When and why did you come to Austin? 
I came to Austin in January of 2014 from New York City. I was ready for a change. I wanted a better quality of life – more living space, warmer climate, accessible outdoor activities, and breakfast tacos! 

What is your background? 
I was a soccer player from age 5 all the way through college. I also ran cross country in the offseason to stay in shape. 

How did you get into personal training? 
I’ve always been athletic from my years of playing soccer & running, but I hit a point in my early 20s when I felt like my body was changing & it no longer reflected the “athlete” that I once was. I hired a personal trainer to start strength training & was immediately hooked. I felt stronger & more confident in & out of the gym & my body was leaner than ever! I was working in fashion at the time & was really bored. I decided I wanted to become a trainer & help change lives like it had changed mine. In a world where so many things are out of our control, health and fitness has the potential to change your life in a way that you can control. I experienced this first hand & from there knew I wanted to be an advocate of that every single day. 

Tell us about your current fitness goals and training: 
I am training to be a well-rounded athlete. I want to be able to squat twice my bodyweight & do unbroken pull-ups, but I also want to be able to go out & run 6 miles in under 50 minutes. 

What is the most common fitness myth you work through with your clients? 
The most common thing I hear from clients, particularly females, is that they do not want to get bulky from lifting weights. 

What do you want your clients to take away from each training session with you? 
I want them to feel like they did something good for themselves & their future. I also want them to feel empowered & strong to take on anything that life throws at them.   

What sets you apart from other fitness professionals? 
I have the ability to really push people while still having a good time. I may make you do something you don’t want to do but I will do it with a smile 😉 

Additionally, I place a lot of emphasis on form and correcting muscle imbalances to avoid injury and ensure that your body moves efficiently. I stress building lean muscle mass by progressively lifting heavier weights in order to speed up your metabolism and turn your body into a lean, mean machine for the rest of your life. 

I am a NASM certified personal trainer, a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer & am TRX certified. I love to learn in order to bring my clients the very best tools for achieving their goals. 

What is your favorite thing about Austin Simply Fit? 
The community & relationships I have created with not only my clients but all of ASF’s clients. And getting to hang out with other really smart & talented trainers all day long.
