Austin Simply Fit is a private personal training studio that provides expert training to a diverse clientele. Our team of personal trainers have a wide variety of backgrounds and areas of expertise. The ideal addition to our team is a qualified professional ready to pursue a full-time career as a personal trainer.

Our highest core value, “We are a Team,” guides our culture – we respect and support each other in the common goal of helping our clients become happier and healthier. We aim to be the best place to work for personal trainers, providing career stability and opportunities for long-term personal and professional growth. We are a woman-owned and operated gym, and we are focused on promoting equality and diversity in the fitness industry.

As a personal trainer at Austin Simply Fit, you will work one-on-one or in multi-client sessions with a wide range of clients. You will design and implement progressive training programs for each client according to their needs and goals. In the gym, you will provide expert coaching on technique and form as your clients progress, modifying the program according to their needs.

ASFU Onboarding Program

We pride ourselves on the quality of our programming and our hands-on coaching and cueing. While all ASF personal trainers have their own passions and specialties, we have a standard of training that we teach through our onboarding process via our educational arm, ASFU. This 13 weeks-long program is paid, and is designed to set new ASF trainers up for long-term success. The expert teaching and coaching provided will benefit even established trainers.

During the onboarding period, coaches learn and apply the basic scientific principles of strength training in the classroom and on the gym floor. We will discuss topics specific to our client population, including the management of stress and fatigue, periodization and program design.

The main objectives of this program are:

  • To learn skills and develop confidence to become successful at Austin Simply Fit
  • To understand the foundations of proper long term strength training
  • To progress toward analytical and technical mastery
  • To recognize the importance of continuing education in our field
“Continuous learning is the minimum requirement for success in any field.”
– Brian Tracy

ASF Internship Program

Austin Simply Fit will be hosting an Internship Program in May of 2026. This program is designed to give developing coaches a real-world look at what it feels like to be part of our team. It is not a full onboarding or coach-development track—that level of depth comes after you’re hired. Instead, it’s a structured opportunity to observe, learn, and experience the ASF environment up close.

NASM Personal Trainer Certificate Program

We are proud to partner with the University of Texas at Austin Center for Professional Education to facilitate their Personal Trainer Certificate program. This hybrid, 12-week course prepares new trainers for careers in the health and fitness industry and culminates with a NASM certification exam. The course is taught by Sierra Nevels, and the hands-on training takes place at our Central Studio.

Frequently Asked Questions

Austin Simply Fit hires full-time personal trainers to work one-on-one and in multi-client sessions at their private training studios in Austin, Texas. Coaches design and implement progressive strength training programs, provide expert technique coaching, and build long-term relationships with a dedicated client base. ASF is not a commercial gym — it’s a coach-led studio focused on serious, individualized training.

All trainers at Austin Simply Fit are hired as W-2 employees, not independent contractors. This means stable, predictable employment with full legal protections — uncommon in an industry that frequently relies on contract arrangements. Employment details, compensation structure, and scheduling expectations are covered transparently during the interview process.

Qualifying trainers receive a full benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a matching 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off. Trainers also receive a paid 13-week onboarding program through Austin Simply Fit University (ASFU), a flexible self-directed schedule, access to top-of-the-line training facilities, and marketing support to help grow their client base.

Applicants should hold a nationally recognized personal training certification and have a solid foundation in strength training principles. ASF looks for coaches who prioritize movement quality, client communication, and ongoing education. Prior coaching experience is preferred, but exceptional candidates with the right mindset and commitment to growth are still considered.

New hires go through a paid 13-week onboarding program through Austin Simply Fit University (ASFU). The program blends classroom education with hands-on gym training, covering ASF’s training philosophy, program design, periodization, movement coaching, and client management. New coaches shadow experienced staff, receive direct mentorship, and practice under supervision before coaching independently. The program is designed to benefit even experienced trainers.

Yes. Austin Simply Fit hosts an internship program for developing coaches who want a real-world look at life on the ASF team. It is not a full coaching or onboarding track — that comes after being hired — but it is a structured opportunity to observe, learn, and experience the ASF environment firsthand. For information on the next internship cohort, contact sierra@austinsimplyfit.com.

ASF also partners with the University of Texas at Austin to offer a 12-week NASM certification prep course for trainers looking to enter the field.

I have to say that John DeLaPaz is one of the best trainers I have had. Not only does he listen to what my physical goals are and understands what workouts I need to help me achieve them, but he also helps and guides me to make better decisions for faster and more noticeable results. He has always been patient but pushes me to always get better. Definitely keeps me accountable, which is key!
