Joana, Carmen, and Rasha all train together, 2-3 times a week with Coach John in our South Lamar and Central Austin studios. They have been named athlete of the month because not only do they train together, they also work together; and because they spend so much time together they have become the best-of accountabilibuddies, and it shows. Recently, they committed to eating healthier as part of a total body program they are working on with John, and it’s made a difference. Their confidence is through the roof, they’ve burned fat – each of them losing 2 inches around their waists – and they significantly increased their muscle mass and strength. We love when these three are in the gym! At the end of every workout, you can tell they gave it their all.
We were able to connect with Carmen, 28, and, Rasha 29, year old about their Austin Simply Fit experience, here’s why they love training as ASF and especially with John.
What do you do in your professional lives?
Carmen: Visual Merchandiser at Zara

When did you start you semi-private group training at Austin Simply Fit?
C: Between August and September 2017
R: August 2017
Why did you decide to join Austin Simply Fit?
C: I’ve been wanting to start exercising in a “more consistent“ way and see my body more toned.
R: I always wanted to have a personal trainer but never got around to looking one up. And ever since moving to Austin I have been hearing Joana talk about training with John for a while and she was really happy so I asked her if I can have his contact in order to go for a consult and make my decision. Carmen overheard us talking and she said that she was interested as well . We both went to meet John and we have been training with him ever since. 🙂
|What were your goals when you started?
C: Because a coworker of mine has been working out at ASF for over a year and she enjoyed it and I wanted to work out with a friend 🙂
R: Wanted to feel fit again and basically strengthen and tighten my whole body.
How close are you to meeting them?
C: I wanted to stick with exercising and be healthier and see the results in my body!
R: Not sure as I know I can always improve but I am seeing amazing results, I have never been happier and more confident with my body!!
What changes have you noticed in your body, mind, spirit since starting at ASF?
C: I think I’m on the right path! I started not too long ago and I already see some changes in my abilities and my body but I know I’m just at the beginning and there’s much more to see!
R: Strength, energy, health…they have all improved since I started working out
What challenges have you had to overcome, if any, since starting out at ASF?
C: First of all, I see how much stronger (physically) I became compared with when I started. Also, now I look forward to working out and try new exercises and challenges (I get really excited when I break my personal records). It’s fun! And yes, my body is more toned!
R: It is not an easy workout, every session has its challenges… I wanna say my upper body… I can do push ups now yaaay! 🙂Any surprises since starting at ASF?
C: I think my main challenge I had to overcome was to keep going even when something felt very difficult and tier’ing.
R: Every session is a surprise!! a great one
Why do you like working out with John?
C: Well, honestly I was surprised when I squatted almost my body weight, considering I was barely able to squat when I started!
R: He is extremely professional, caring and attentive to each one of us 3, as we all have our strength and weaknesses. He pushes us to reach our best in order to see better results. and we always have a great laugh.
What is it about John/ASF that keeps you coming back?
