SUMMER VIBES: Tips to Keep your Fitness Consistent!

Summer is in full swing! Maybe you have left Texas for nicer environs, or maybe you’re staying submerged in water or AC. If you’re traveling or juggling kids’ schedules, it can be tough to fit in your regular training. And if you’re used to getting your cardio outside, you might be struggling in the heat.

If you’re having a hard time keeping up with your training this summer, don’t worry. Here are some tips to keep you going:

  1. Don’t cancel, reschedule! Work with your trainer to get in the gym whenever you can. Get creative with your schedule to stay consistent.
  2. Book a Zoom session with your trainer. Even if all you have is bodyweight in a hotel room, your trainer can keep you on track from afar.
  3. Walk as much as you can. On vacation, stroll the beach, explore the city on foot, or check out a museum. At home, walk around the ballfields while your kid is at practice, meet a friend for a zip around Ladybird Lake and a dip in Barton Springs, or go retro and walk the mall.
  4. Get outside early. And try shady trails like the Greenbelt. Beat the heat as much as you can, and don’t forget to hydrate!
  5. Stretch/roll out/breathe. No matter how busy you are, you definitely have at least 10 minutes to gently move your body every day. Follow our stretch protocol, try an online guided stretch, or spend a few minutes on your foam roller. Breathe deeply and relax!
