Athlete of the Month

CLIENT HIGHLIGHT | AUGUST 2025

Congratulations to Client Highlight Megan Boyd! Megan shows up and puts in the effort, even when it’s outside her comfort zone or just a bit tedious. She sticks with the program and goes hard, and the results have been phenomenal! Way to go, Megan!

ATHLETE OF THE MONTH: Megan Boyd

From Megan’s trainer, Andrea Joseph:

Megan was a natural choice for Athlete of the Month. She’s been a consistent and hard working long-term client. As a trainer, it’s really something to see someone’s progress over a span of time. Megan is not only stronger, she moves better, pushes harder, and has more confidence in her strength than she did a year ago.

The patience she has shown doing goblet squats ad nauseam is commendable. We needed to work on strengthening her core and improving her movement pattern to prepare her for the demands of a barbell. I would say it was definitely worth it because her barbell back squats are perfection!

Even more, I admire Megan for her quirky personality and positive attitude that she always brings with her into the gym. I look forward to her continued progress!

Here’s what Megan had to say about her training:

What do you enjoy most about working with your trainer at ASF? What I love most is how much better I feel after every workout, both physically and mentally. Andrea challenges me to get stronger and step outside of my comfort zone. I’ve been dealing with thoracic outlet syndrome for a few years, and Andrea is so intentional about working around my shoulder injury while still pushing me to get stronger. She takes time during the session to explain the goal of the workout that we’re doing…learning why we’re doing a certain workout, makes pushing through it easier. I think my favorite thing about her though, is that she lets me complain about the workouts I hate but still makes me do them. 🙂 Andrea is the best trainer I’ve had and I genuinely look forward to working out with her!Client highlight Megan doing a goblet squat

What have you been most proud of since you started training? Since I started training, I’ve been most proud of sticking with it…through sore muscles, early mornings, and everything in between. My strength and stamina have improved so much, but what I’m really proud of is how I keep showing up for myself.

What are you looking forward to? I’m looking forward to continuing to build my strength and endurance, and seeing how far I can go.
