Athlete of the Month

ATHLETES OF THE MONTH – MAY 2018

ASF LEANDER: KEN PFILE

Ken is a software engineer at a video game development company in the Austin area. He is always at a desk and though he recently got a sit-stand desk, getting in physical activity is especially important to him.

“Ken always shows up ready to work hard and is extremely coachable. We have worked a lot on keeping him fully functioning through his 3-4 days a week powerlifting program,” said Coach Jen. “He has had some back issues in the past so has been very cautious with increasing weight. Over the last several months we have not only strengthened his back but we’ve put big numbers on all his lifts. Ken is a real pleasure to train because he always puts 110% into each session! I’m excited for him to compete in a powerlifting meet soon.”

Ken told us about her ASF experience, read it here!

ASF CENTRAL: LAURA HAMPTON

From Coach Darryl himself, “Laura has sooo much fight in her. Workouts can get very tough and bring her to the very edge of her limit, but you can visibly see her digging deep and finding that champion within her.”

ASF SOUTH: NANCY BEDINGFIELD

Nancy has been training at ASF for several years and for the last year has been working with Coach Theo. The past 6 months have shown a drastic improvement in not only her work ethic, also the results she is experiencing.

“Nancy has taken to kettlebell training extremely well and has even purchased a small group of bells of her own,” said Coach Theo. “On top of that she has signed up for Precision Nutrition ProCoach (coming available to all ASF clients soon) to help her stay accountable daily.  So far this year Nancy has lost over 8 lbs of fat and continues to improve daily.  Basically Nancy has become another strong woman and who doesn’t love that?”
