Name: Danel “Coach DJ” Cedent
What is your background? How did you get into personal training?
I grew up around four athletically gifted cousins in Florida which gave me a competitive spirit. In high school I played soccer and basketball and participated in track & field (100, 200, long jump & triple jump). I also played football and was selected all state in back to back years. My passion for staying physically active through sports has lead me to pursue a career in fitness.
I graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and am now a certified personal trainer, a certified CrossFit trainer and a mixed martial arts coach specializing in striking and pad drills. I have been involved in the fitness industry since 2009, training groups and individuals from all ages and levels.
What sets you apart from other fitness professionals?
I come from a very cultured background and speak French fluently. I have extensive knowledge and experience when it comes to sports specific training, endurance training, strength training, Olympic weight lifting, plyometrics exercises, weight loss and rehabilitation. I’m currently pursuing an education in nutrition and continue to better myself as a trainer by researching and learning more about the physiology of the human body. It’s my belief that you conquer any obstacles if you are willing to put in the effort. I love to motivate my clients to challenge themselves, both in mind and body.
