Here’s what Coach Sierra Nevels had to say about Nelly:
I am choosing Nelly because she’s a hard worker, and like the silent assassin. She’s very chill and laid back but gets after it bar none. Since I started training Nelly this year, I had no idea flag football was now a collegiate sport – this is awesome and just a great opportunity for others to get into sports that they love. It’s been a pleasure training Nelly – her work ethic is insane and it shows. I’m excited to see what she does next year at the next level.
Here’s what Nelly told us about training at ASF:
In what ways has your athletic performance or physique improved? I have noticed a big change in my strength and muscle mass while working with Sierra. I have also seen an increase in speed and flexibility. I am able to preform at my best, for longer periods of time, and I have even seen increases in my combine testing such as vertical jump and 40 yard dash time.
What keeps you motivated to keep training with Sierra? I have continued to see my progress over the last couple of months and it has made me want to push myself harder each time I come. I love working up to lifting new weight and seeing what my body can do.
What has training with Sierra taught you about lifting and nutrition to improve health and performance? Sierra has taught me that form and taking care of my body is always the most important thing about lifting. I have learned that you cannot perform at your best without eating right and focusing on the little things that will protect your muscles and keep you healthy.
What are your plans for the future? I’m going to play women’s flag football at Reinhardt University on scholarship. I plan to major in biology and pursue a career in wildlife and fisheries.
