Athlete of the Month


We love this month’s positive, powerful pair of women! Lynn McKee and Kelly Dealyn know that there is a lot more to training than just physical fitness. It is definitely hard work, but it is also self-care. It’s about feeling confident, energetic and strong.

And they know how important a positive attitude can be to success in the gym! Kelly and Lynn bring a fun and upbeat energy that is felt by everyone around them. We love having them at ASF and we look forward to watching them get stronger!



From Lynn’s trainer, Nicky Trbovich:

Lynn truly deserves to be highlighted this month. She shows up to every session ready to give one-hundred percent and never holds back. It’s amazing how far she has come – she is a great example of what hard work and dedication can achieve. On top of that, Lynn has a wonderful personality. She always sees the brighter side of any situation and it’s hard not to be positive around her. I am very fortunate to be her trainer and cannot wait to see how much she grows. Heck yeah!

We asked Lynn a few questions about her experience:

What do you enjoy most about working with your trainer at ASF?
Training with Nicky has enabled me to reclaim my health and strength. I am more energetic, more confident, and happier! Doing this has changed my life in a profoundly positive way.

Nicky challenges and motivates me. He provides customized programming, clear instructions, ensures my form is correct and carefully monitors my progress. All I have to do is show up and do what he says. We work hard, and he makes it fun. He is very supportive and encouraging, and I enjoy the whole amazing experience.

What have you been most proud of since you started training?
Hmmm. That’s a tough question. I don’t feel pride per se, more amazement that such a small investment of time can yield such impressive results. I can see the change in my body after only a few months, and I am prouder of my fitness level than I’ve been in years. I’m proud that I committed to do this for myself, as it is an effective form of self-care. And I’m proud that I have put myself out there physically beyond ASF, joining the Pickleball community and playing regularly, with notable increases in skill due to my training.

What are you looking forward to?
Seeing continued improvement in my body and fitness. Continuing to have fun while working hard. I guess just more of the same, forever and ever. Amen. 🙂


ASF Central: Kelly Dealyn

From Kelly’s trainer, Sianna Decarli:

Kelly was an easy contender for Athlete of the Month. Since we started working together, she has shown up everyday and given unmatched effort to every session. She has dedicated time and effort to mastering each exercise and does the work necessary to make progress in and out of the gym! Not only is she an inspiration for work and dedication, she is also a pleasure to be around. Every time Kelly attends a session, my day gets better!

Here’s what Kelly thinks about her training:

What do you enjoy most about working with your trainer at ASF?
Sianna always greets me with a smile and I love talking to her about more than just the weather :). She keeps me motivated and accountable. She pushes me to do my best even on days when I’m not feeling my best. She identifies areas where we need to build strength and adjusts my program to work on those areas as needed. I look forward to seeing her every week.

What have you been most proud of since you started training?
My commitment to it. It’s hard and some days I feel like I can’t do it and I feel weak, but I show up anyway. I want to live longer and be mobile and healthy in my later years, and I want to be a strong role model for my kids. I’m proud that I push through my negative self talk and fear of failure and keep going.

What are you looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to believing I’m good enough and that my body is perfect as it is. My goals have been a moving target and began from a place of vanity, but they’ve evolved into a shift in mindset. I want to look in the mirror and believe I’m strong and healthy. The work I’m doing has helped me grow mentally more than put me back into my smaller clothes.
