ASF Competing in USPA Bend the Bar Meet

It’s going to be a busy weekend for the Austin Simply Fit crew! Ten ASF athletes are competing in the United States Power Lifting Associations’ Bend the Bar Meet this Saturday, December 14 in Round Rock, Texas.

Representing Austin Simply Fit will be B Barnett (148/Open Women/RAW), Krista Bergeron (123/Open Women/RAW) , Meryl Cary (114/Open Woman/RAW), Julie Laursen (114/Open Women/Raw Classic), Adrien Paczosa (114/Open Women/Raw Classic) Stacey Jones and Ruth Ann Ford. Representing the men will be Hunter Burkey (220/Open Men/SP), John Delapaz (220/Open Men/RAW), Brendan Morr (198/Junior Men20-23/RAW), Lucas Orosco (165/Junior Men20-23/RAW), and Jeremy Schraw (275/Open Men/RAW).

Each of the athletes has an opportunity to qualify for the 2014 Nationals in Las Vegas this summer and the 2014 IPL Worlds in Las Vegas to be held in November. For some of the athletes, this meet could also mean a spot in the record books. Meryl Cary, Krista Bergeron, B Barnett, and Lucas Orosco are all looking to break state and national records.

“I plan to break/set all four records. But regardless of how that works out, I will just enjoy competing again for the first time in four years with my new team, Austin Simply Fit,” said Orosco.
