“You never realize how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. “

What is your training style?
Intuitive.  I treat every client uniquely. I will meet you wherever you’re at and give you what you need in order to be successful. Your ability level doesn’t matter to me, but your attitude does. With the right attitude, you can accomplish SO much. I’m a firm believer in tough love, and I like to be direct and straightforward. But I’m no drill sergeant.  I smile a lot and laugh a lot, and I will always try to brighten your day.

Tell us about your fitness background
I was an uncoordinated, lanky, weak little kid with a big heart. I loved playing outside, riding my bike, and throwing the football around with my brother.  I danced for 12 years and played tennis for a season. I was never very strong or flexible, and I always believed there was nothing I could really do about it. It took me years to learn something very important: our bodies adapt to the ‘stresses’ we put on them. First I found Yoga and learned that I could train my body to be more flexible and have better mobility. Then I started hitting the gym more and lifting heavier weights on a regular basis. Let me tell you, there is nothing more empowering than moving around some heavy weight. Try it, and you’ll see what I mean. In short, you don’t need to have an athletic history in order to become an athlete.

Why did you become a personal trainer?
For the last decade, I have worked in some capacity with training people how to really occupy, move, and enjoy their body. I worked in different rehabilitative therapies for children with motor disabilities for 8 years, and I have taught Yoga for 3 years. My goal is always the same: teach people how to realize and reach their true potential. There is nothing more powerful and exhilarating than proving to yourself that you are capable of much more than you ever realized.

What other specializations do you have?
I am a licensed massage therapist with a specialization in orthopedic massage.  I am also a registered Yoga teacher.
